Course Description

We offer courses from National and  State recognized organizations, as well as our own proprietary courses, designed around preparing for and surviving an lethal force encounter as well as the aftermath that follow.  We promote the proper mindset, knowledge, and training to defend your life for the lives of those you protect.

USCCA Courses:

Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals Course

This course exceeds the requirements for the State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).

This is an 8 hour course that covers creating a personal and home defense plan, self defense firearm handling, defensive shooting fundamentals, the legal use of force, the aftermath of a violent encounter, proper gear/equipment, and live fire exercises.

Proprietary Courses:

New Shooter Course

This is an 8 hour course that covers all the elements of firearms safety, basic shooting skills, storage, and maintenance of your firearms. This is a highly interactive and hands on course with uses a combination of classroom, dry fire, and live fire training to help familiarize students with their own firearms and how to safely use, store, and maintain them.

Advanced Defensive Pistol – Level I

This course is 8-10 hours and involves both classroom and live-fire exercises. Students must be able to prove sucessful completion of an approved Michigan CPL course in order to register for this course.

  • The classroom portion consists of Rules of Engagement for the Armed Citizen, Surviving the Emotional and Legal Aftermath. This portion is concluded with a comprehensive written exam, requiring a minimum score of 80%.
  • Range work consists of firing from multiple shooting positions, how to safely draw and fire from a holster, how to safely reholster, and shooting from cover and/or concealment. The Range portion of the class is concluded by requiring students to complete a law enforcement style qualification course. Students must reach a minimum score to pass.

Graduates of this course qualify to take the Advanced Defensive Pistol Course

Advanced Defensive Pistol – Level II

This is a 4-5 hour course consisting of only Range exercises. This course focuses on furthering the development of holstering skills (drawing and re-holstering), as well as adding movement while shooting, engaging multiple attackers, shooting from positions of disadvantage, and more. Students must have successfully completed the Ghostride Defense Intermediate Defensive Pistol course or equivalent in order to register for this course

NRA Courses:

NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting

Topics in the course include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, selecting and storing a pistol, the fundamentals of shooting, and pistol inspection and maintenance.

NRA Personal Protection In the Home

This course meets (and exceeds) the requirements for the State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).

This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.

NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home

The course is divided into two levels. Level one is nine-hours and offers the essential knowledge and skills that must be mastered in order to carry, store, and use a firearm safely and effectively for personal protection outside the home. Students spend several hours on the range and shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition during level one. Upon completion, students may choose to attend level two, which is an additional five hours on the range and approximately 115 rounds of ammunition learning advanced shooting skills. Time and ammunition requirements are minimum, and may be exceeded.
