About Ghostrider Defense
Taught by an instructor who teaches the law as hard as the shooting
Mike Kasper
USCCA Training Counselor, NRA certified instructor, MAG-40 and Law of Self Defense graduate
Mike founded Ghostrider Defense to train armed citizens across Mid-Michigan. He teaches the reasoning behind each technique rather than the technique alone, so students learn how small changes in grip and stance change the result. The classroom stays open and questions are welcome at any point in the day.
He is certified by the NRA in Basic Pistol, Personal Protection in the Home and Personal Protection Outside the Home, and by the USCCA in Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals. As a USCCA Training Counselor he also certifies other instructors. He is a graduate of MAG-40 with Massad Ayoob and of the Andrew Branca Law of Self Defense course, which is why his classes spend real time on when force is lawful and when it is not.

Questions students ask
Is this class state approved?
Yes. Every class listed here meets the Michigan CPL training requirements, and your certificate is valid for your application at the county clerk.
Do I need any experience?
No. Beginners are welcome and many students are shooting for the first time. You will be coached at your own pace, and questions are welcome at any point in the day.
How long does the class take?
One day. You cover the classroom material and the live fire range session in the same session.
Do I need my own gun?
Not usually. Most ranges rent a pistol and sell ammunition for the range portion. Check the class listing for details, or call us at (248) 662-5744 before you book.
What should I bring?
A valid state ID, closed-toe shoes, a pen and a good attitude. Bring your own pistol and ammunition if you have them.
